SES Waterproofing applicator preparing a commercial deck for a new membrane in Auckland

Waterproofing that finds the leak first and warrants the fix

Leaking deck, damp basement, failed roof membrane or a joint that lets water into the building: SES diagnoses where the water is getting in, repairs or replaces the waterproofing with warranted systems, and deals with the mould or asbestos the leak has already caused.

  • Leak diagnosis before quoting
  • Manufacturer-warranted membranes
  • Mould and asbestos handled in-house
How it works

How a waterproofing job runs

  1. Step 01

    Find the water

Inspection, moisture readings and flood or dye testing where the source is not obvious; pre-2000 substrates checked for asbestos.

  2. Step 02

Fixed quote with the system named

Repair versus replace, the membrane or sealant system, and the warranty you will hold.

  3. Step 03

    Prepare and apply

Substrate repaired and primed, details and upstands done properly, membrane applied to manufacturer spec by trained applicators.

  4. Step 04

    Test and warrant

Flood test or inspection, warranty documentation issued, mould or damage remediation booked if needed.

What waterproofing costs

Membrane work is priced per square metre by system and substrate condition: a residential deck typically NZD [4,000-12,000], commercial roofs and basements quoted per project.

Leak detection and joint resealing are fixed-price after inspection.

Why building owners and body corporates use SES

We find where the water enters before quoting, so you do not pay for a new membrane when a joint is the problem.

  • Diagnosis before product - we find where the water enters before quoting, so you do not pay for a new membrane when a joint is the problem.
  • Warranted systems, trained applicators - installed to manufacturer specification, warranty paperwork in your hand.
  • The damage behind the leak - mould remediation, asbestos in old decks and roofs, and interior repairs, all under one SES contract.

Waterproofing FAQs

Straight answers to the questions procurement teams, facilities managers and property owners ask us most. If yours is not here, call the office or send us the scope and a division lead will answer it directly.

  • How do I know if I need a new membrane or a repair?

Isolated leaks at joints, upstands or penetrations are usually repairable; blistering, cracking or widespread ponding means replacement. Our inspection tells you which before we quote.

  • Do you provide a warranty?

Yes - manufacturer product warranties plus SES workmanship warranty; terms depend on the system and are stated on the quote.

  • Can you fix the water damage inside as well?

Yes - mould remediation, linings, paint and repairs through SES Specialist Cleaning and Property Maintenance.

  • Do you work on body-corporate and commercial buildings?

Yes - podiums, roof decks, basement carparks and facades, with staged programmes and body-corporate reporting.

  • Which regions do you cover?

Auckland, Waikato, Northland, Hawke’s Bay and Wellington.

Send photos of the leak and the area - we will tell you repair or replace

Photos of where the water shows up and the area above it are enough for the waterproofing lead to advise and book an inspection.
