Mould is a moisture problem first. We find the source - leak, condensation, failed waterproofing, ground moisture - then remove affected linings, HEPA-vacuum and treat surfaces, dry the structure and verify with air or surface sampling.

Meth decontamination to NZS 8510

New Zealand’s standard, NZS 8510:2017, sets 1.5 µg per 100 cm² as the level at which a property should be decontaminated. SES tests (screening and lab-analysed wipe samples), decontaminates - removal of soft furnishings and porous linings where needed, chemical wash of hard surfaces, HVAC cleaning - then re-tests and issues a clearance report.

Can’t I just clean mould with bleach?
Surface mould on tiles, yes. Mould in plasterboard, timber or carpet has roots in the material and a moisture source behind it; bleach removes the stain, not the problem.
Is black mould dangerous?
Any extensive mould can affect breathing, allergies and asthma, and the Healthy Homes standards require rentals to be free of it. Treat significant growth as a health issue, not a cosmetic one.
What meth reading needs decontamination?
Above 1.5 µg/100 cm² under NZS 8510:2017. Lower readings usually need a clean and re-test only. We explain your results before quoting.
Will my insurance cover meth or mould?
Meth contamination is often covered as a sudden event; mould depends on the cause (a burst pipe usually yes, long-term neglect usually no). We provide the report either way.
How long does it take?
Mould: one to three days on site plus drying time. Meth: two to five days for a standard home, then clearance sampling with lab results in two to three working days.
